NEWYORKCITYFASHION

I'm always astounded when walking the streets of Manhattan to see so many fashionable people filling the streets. Fashion is everywhere from the Upper West Side down to Soho while streaming through the Fashion District. I love the feeling of art being infused through fashion in the window displays of boutiques and department stores. It's an incredible feeling to be inspired by just looking at the world around you.

Fashionista Feature: Monique

Here Monique sports one of the hottest trends right now - the romper. She pairs this adorable pink and black print romper with lace up leather heels with a black and gold studded belt. She adds a gold feather charmed necklace to pick up the gold in the belt buckle. It's the perfect mix of funk and girly with the pop of color in the shorts which is played off by the rusty gold jewelry. It's the perfect look to kick off summer!

Fashionista Feature: Alex!

What a way to start the day by running into this little fashionista! Alex has paired distressed grey skinny jeans with a navy tank top and brown rough cowboy boots for a pulled together look that just looks great! Her neon bandeau underneath adds a pop of color that can be seen only through the lacy back that adds just the right touch! The colors in her outfit don't need to match because they all work together to create a fun look without being over the top.

LAUREN MOSHI for spring!

Lauren Moshi has produced fabulous items for spring in bold patterns and graphics in fun, new styles. One of my favorites is the Lauren Moshi Love Potion Harper Raglan in Heather Gray/Black because the graphic emulates the old world Chanel design while throwing in a 90's feel with the raglan tee. The distressed fabric works great in the gray/black combination. Lauren Moshi was started by two siblings, Michael and Lauren, who never cease to amaze me!

Just the Right Touch or a Bit too Much?

One of my favorite parts about fashion is taking risks. So, when I came across these high-heeled peep toe cowboy boots, I instantly thought I would try them! They are fun and funky with a cool, rough, leathery feel. They have a platform underneath accompanied by a 4.5 inch heel! What a statement!

Designer Profile: John Eshaya

When browsing the racks one day in a small boutique, I came across a selection of adorable printed tee shirts with cool, funky graphics that were just my style. They had an eclectic feel, with a little edge, mixed with a little punk-princess that gave off just the right vibe. I quickly picked up two styles I liked and fell in love. The soft fabric went perfectly with a pair of Splendid black leggings or funky skinny jeans. Of my two favorites, one was a mauve-pink with a big Buddha on the front paired with the word PEACE across the top. The other one was jet black with pink crossbones behind a big heart, topped by a crown, with the word LOVE splashed across the front. These shirts were so funky and different, like nothing I had seen before. Leave it to John Eshaya....

Store Profile: Shi by Journey's

As a shoe-obsessed fashionista, I would first like to say that you don't have to spend a lot of money to find a fabulous pair of shoes. But, do make sure you are shopping at the right stores. I loooove browsing the shoe sections in Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus but I'm not trying to break the bank everytime a new trend appears. My solution to this is Shi by Journeys. An adorable shore store with awesome shoes at reasonable prices. Their prices range from low 30's to over 100 dollars a pair which is a nice selection that gives you many options depending on how much you would like to spend. They have great shoes that are extremely similar styles to the ones seen at Bloomingdale's for 300 dollars a pair. I got an adorable pair of black patent high heels with a lipstick red heel, accompanied by a platform to enhance the comfort of the shoe. Those were 69.99 dollars. Recently, I bought a pair of black wedges that I'm OBSESSED with!!! They have crazy thick black straps going across my feet and around my ankle. They are wedges so they are super comfortable. On the straps are bronzey-gold studs that give it a funky-rocker feel while still being able to be dressed up with a mini dress or played down with skinny jeans or denim leggings. Definitely check out Shi when you're in need of shoes for a dance that you will only wear once or for your everyday shoes! They have such a variety for all styles and an amazing selection making it hard to walk out without a purchase!

Goddis!

I'm in loooove with this fabulous up-and-coming brand of yummy sweaters and tops called Goddis!! My favorite is the Zanna Zipper sweater in black or creme! This line of sweaters is so amazing and creative. It's made with a mix of knit cotton and acrylic that is soft and sweet and looks amazing on! The Zanna sweater has a gold zipper running across the top making it versatile and easy to adjust from crew neck sweater to off the shoulder top!
