Still In the City!

If you want to learn how to dress, the streets of Manhattan is where it's at. No one does fashion like the city girls. Everyone looks so well dressed, put together, stylish, sophisticated, need I say more? It is a fashionistas dream. If you ever have a chance to spend a summer in Manhattan, definitely take advantage of it. Of course you have your Upper-East-Sider-Blair Waldorf look-a-likes with their gorgeous headbands from Bendel's and their Mui Mui handbags slung across their bodies. They are stylish and sophisticated without looking the least bit fazed. We can't forget the funky Soho crowd with their amazing vintage-inspired dresses and leggings with their Do-It-Yourself bags and belts. They have a fashion sense unlike any other. I can't forget to mention the Upper-West-Siders casual yet funky dress composed of ripped jeans and amazing tunics. One day I was walking down Columbus Avenue around 72nd and I saw a girl coming out of Olive and Bettes wearing the most adorable oversized T-shirt with a tiger on it by Wildfox (yes, I looked it up online!) and black leggings with funky boots. She was the epitome of style and flair and I just loved everything about her outfit. Their are many more areas of Manhattan that I didn't mention but, trust me, they don't go unnoticed!

NYC Fashion!

Im currently doing an internship in New York City and LOVING IT!!! The fashion scene is incredible and the pulse of the city influences everything from the shoes to the handbags to the denim pants. I'm working at a fashion showroom so I can get a behind-the-scenes look at fashion and the upcoming trends. One type of denim that will definitely come into play in the early fall is the colored jean. I love the Highlighter Yellow! Its so fun and cool by Denim of Virtue! The electric blue or turquoise are all good choices. Pair them with a fun T-shirt or tunic and you will be look so fun and fresh moving into fall!

Boots in the...Summer?

Many fashionistas think that boots are reserved for only those cold winter months of December to March - Wrong!! A new trend to emerge on the fashion scene is Spring and Summer booties. I absolutely love this idea because some dresses just look better with boots! Am I right? I love pairing a flirty summer floral-print dress with adorable heeled booties in a summer fabric preferably in a bold color like fuschia or melon or even a rich purple! Fringe is also big right now so play up a fringe booty with a small suede clutch and it will be just right without being too much!! I'm loving the Jeffrey Campbell Moccasin or the Candela NYC Studded Robin Boot on Urban Outfitters.com! The Candela boot I love especially because it just looks so amazing thrown with a funky dress for going out or a tight black mini skirt for running around the town. The Juxtapose between the hard-funkiness of the boot and the flowing feminine summer dress has just the right flair! Have fun with your look and enjoy the summer fashions!
